PFund Foundation Receives More Than $1 Million in New Grant Funding to Support Queer Communities Across the Upper Midwest

Minneapolis, October 3, 2023–PFund Foundation is excited to announce that it has received $1.145 million in new grant funding to support its mission and programs over the next three years. Since July 1, PFund has been awarded the following major grants:
Bush Foundation | Ecosystems Grant | $460,000
Ecosystem grants are awarded by the Bush Foundation to provide operating support to organizations that others rely upon to help solve problems in their communities and across our region. Grant funds will provide $150,000 of general operating support annually for the next three years and $10,000 in capacity building funds to increase PFund Foundation’s ability to work across differences.
Northwest Area Foundation | $400,000
Grant funds will support PRISM grants and grantee cohort programming for the next two years.
McKnight Foundation | Vibrant and Equitable Communities Grant | $100,000
Grant funds will provide general operating support to PFund Foundation over the next year.
Margaret A. Cargill Foundation Fund of the Minneapolis Foundation | $100,000
Grant funds will be used to support PFund’s work building equity with and for historically-excluded LGBTQ+ communities.
Margaret A. Cargill Foundation Fund of the Saint Paul & Minnesota Foundation | $75,000
Grant funds will be used to provide non-clinical and cultural mental health and wellness supportive services with and for diverse communities, addressing toxic stress, harmful social isolation, racism, and/or intergenerational historical trauma.
Union Pacific Foundation | Community Ties Giving Program | $10,000
Grant funds will support four 2024 Union Pacific Building Pride scholarships for LGBTQ+ students from the Upper Midwest studying technical fields or the trades.
