Making Coffee, and Change, in Milwaukee!

PFund Foundation recently had the joy of visiting one of our Equity Fund grantees in Milwaukee, the inspiring Style Pop Café. This one-of-a-kind, queer & BIPOC-owned business isn’t just brewing delicious lattes in the heart of Walker’s Point, they’re building community, culture, and belonging from the ground up. Walk through their doors and you feel it immediately: a sense of pride, possibility, and warmth that can only come from a space created with intention, identity, and love.

Beyond being the city’s newest go-to for bold flavors and cozy vibes, Style Pop Café has quickly become a vibrant queer social hub, a place where creativity flows as freely as the espresso, where neighbors become allies, and where joy is both celebrated and protected. Cafés have always been catalysts for movements and ideas, and here, community isn’t a backdrop it’s the mission.

Queer and BIPOC-owned businesses like Style Pop Café are not simply places to shop or sip, they are markers of progress. In a time when LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities continue to confront cultural backlash, political hostility, and widening economic inequities, these businesses stand as brick-and-mortar testaments to resilience and possibility. They enrich local economies, hire inclusively, and create safer spaces in neighborhoods that have not always welcomed us. Supporting them isn’t just about loving good coffee, it’s about investing in our visibility and economic empowerment. When they thrive, our whole community rises.

We are proud to support Style Pop Café and the entrepreneurs who are imagining, and serving, a more joyful and just future for us all. Cheers to spaces built with purpose, powered by passion, and grounded in pride. Stop by, grab a drink, pull up a seat and taste the change brewing in Milwaukee.
